Then and Now…

Federal Hill Pizza was started in 2005 by William Manzo, Jr. out of the back of his cigar lounge on Federal Hill in Rhode Island. It was here that the popularity of Bill’s pizza began to flourish and people began to take notice. Soon, customers were calling for deliveries. After that something unpredictable happened. A woman stopped by to purchase just the dough to take home to make her own pizza at her husband’s request. She wondered when she would be able to buy the dough in her local market. William happily put a dough ball inside a plastic cigar bag and sent the woman on her way. The next day, Bill began his venture to acquire wholesale accounts for his pizza dough and shells.

In just over two years Federal Hill Pizza products were in over two hundred supermarkets throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Due to the overwhelming positive response to Federal Hill Pizza products in the markets Bill soon felt it was time to open a restaurant that is now known as Federal Hill Brick Oven Pizza. Opening in March 2010 our full-service restaurant in Warren, Rhode Islandshowcases Bill’s unique style of Neapolitan brick oven pizza and myriad of other menu items from salads to burgers in a family friendly setting.

Federal Hill Pizza also boasts eighteen rotating craft beers on draft as well as various bottled craft beers.

Authentic and Fresh

At Federal Hill Brick Oven Pizza we pride ourselves in only using a real Neapolitan pizza dough recipe (flour,water,yeast, salt) which is best used for pizza, calzones and dough boys. This traditional, artisan recipe was developed from a combination of his cooking with his grandmother and his numerous visits to the Mecca of pizza Naples, Italy. Growing up he was constantly around fresh and healthful foods. Bill lives by his words, “Keep it simple, only use the best ingredients, and always strive for perfection.”
